Winfield Mounds

Sometimes you just have days where you need to get out and do something outside of your norm. Going to a forest preserve and taking pictures isn't really outside of my norm, but since being cooped up in an apartment for a very long winter, it has become just that. Last friday, my fiance Tim and I decided we needed to get out and do something we hadn't done for a while, so we grabbed the camera and headed over to Winfield Mounds to do a little exploring. Here's a few goodies from that afternoon... The first two are my shots and the other two are Tim's.

Zach and Janlee's Wedding

Last October I had the privilege of shooting my first wedding in Eagle River, Wisconsin at the Chanticleer Inn. Zach Johnson and I worked together on Residence Life staff last year at Wheaton College and I was really honored when he asked me to help shoot his wedding. Adam Pratt and I worked together to capture Zach and Janlee's day, so there are a few of his images scattered throughout this post as well. Thank you Zach and Janlee for inviting us to be a part of capturing your big day; you should know that it's been shaping much of the way I think about photography and helping me to discover more of what I love about this art. These are a few of my favorite photos from the Johnson wedding. Enjoy!

Zach and Janlee met before the ceremony for some time together and for pictures with their families.

I just love daddy-daughter moments :)

Zach's parents cuddling because it was cold outside.

The next few are Adam's images as well.
Zach and Janlee were going to have their wedding outside, but it snowed(!) the morning of. A few changes to the reception hall and voila! - it was set for the ceremony...
After the ceremony, Zach and Janlee took a ride in Remember When, Janlee's father's beautiful antique Chris-Craft boat.

Instead of cake, Zach and Janlee chose to have chocolate fountains at their reception.
